Construction of Sports Facilities for 2019 SEA Games on track
Capas, Tarlac—Leaders of the Philippine SEA Games Organizing Committee (PHISGOC)
inspected on Saturday, July 7, the Sports Facilities being built in New Clark City as the Philippines
gears up to host the 30th Southeast Asian Games in 2019.
The Sports Facilities are part of New Clark City’s Phase1A which Infrastructure Developer
AlloyMTD intends to finish by October 2019.
The world-class sports complex includes an Athletic Stadium with a 20,000 seating capacity,
Aquatic Center with a 2,000 seating capacity, and an Athletes Village that can accommodate up to
1,000 athletes.
“The Athletes Village has a total of 525 units, 95 of which are specially intended for Persons with
disabilities (PWD).; Amenities Gym, Library, and Conference Rooms in each floor; Kitchen and
dining area; Basketball court, Swimming pool, and Deck gardens,” according to PHISGOC Deputy
Director General for Athletes Village Arrey Perez.
AlloyMTD President Nicholas David says New Clark City construction is on track and is confident
that Phase1A will be completed ahead of schedule.
PHISGOC officials also led the erection of steel columns for the Athletic Stadium together with
Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) President and CEO Vivencio Dizon.
Clark will serve as the main hub of the 2019 SEA Games with the Aquatics and Athletics event to
be held at the New Clark City.
