BCDA showcases Filinvest ‘multi-gen metropolis’ at Belt and Road Summit The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) pitched to international firms theinvestment opportunities for the 288-hectare multi-gen metropolis in New Clark City during thefourth Belt & Road Summit, to be held on 11-12 September 2019 in Hong Kong. Atty. Joanna Eileen Capones, BCDA Vice President for Investments Promotion and Marketing,is among the prominent roster of presenters during the summit’s “Investment and Business-Matching Session.” At the summit, she showcased Filinvest’s ‘live, learn, work, and play’concept integrated in its modern township that complements New Clark City’s smart, resilient,and sustainable features. Dubbed as a “future-ready” metropolis, Filinvest’s property is strategically located to theNational Government Administrative Center. It is also accessible via road networks that connectto the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway and the Clark International Airport which will be the nextglobal gateway in Asia. “Filinvest was the first private group that believed in our bold vision for New Clark City. Theyhave been building Filipino dreams through masterplanned communities that enrich the lives ofmany people, and we want to tread on that same path as we develop Clark,” Capones said. Filinvest’s mixed-use industrial area will house an innovation park, a research and development(R&D) district, and a lifestyle mixed-use district for hotels, office buildings, and commercialestablishments. The 62-hectare Innovation Park Phase 1 will accommodate industries from the lightmanufacturing sector, logistics, storage, warehousing, cold storage, and food processing.Construction of the park has started last July and will be completed by first quarter of 2020.Meanwhile, the R&D District will be a campus-type area wherein locators will provide supportfor the innovation park. Other developments include a commercial mixed-use district that feature local and global brands,a residential district in which low-density condominiums will be established to highlight thelocation’s natural topography and for occupants to have a mountain view. An education cluster will also be developed to provide schools that offer primary to tertiaryeducation, as well as, TESDA-accredited courses to complement the industrial park. A city park is also envisioned to be a family-centric destination that will adopt green featuressuch as bioswale and aquaponic wetlands and will promote a vibrant F&B scene with healthierfood options. The park will also have leisure walkway and cycling park loop, and will be a goodplace for interactive public art and events.
